We were kindly gifted a VIP day in Blackpool’s Coral Island over the August bank holiday weekend! All i can say is WOW what a day we chose to go! It was a scorcher of a weekend!
We started off our day in Peggy’s Snack Bar for a bit of breakfast. John and myself got two fry ups and Grayson even got himself a little kids meal! The best thing is that in Coral Island kids under 10 eat for FREE with a full paying adult meal, so a family of four can eat for under £10! As you can see we got a big full plate and Grayson never left a drop of his breakfast either. Its all really reasonably priced too, we have been a few places where the charge an arm and a leg for a breakfast but this was so reasonable and sooooo tasty!
After we filled up for the day we hit the arcades after collecting our goodie bag from the prize store! There was so much to see and do, there was 2p and 10p machines everywhere, there was loads of different arcade games to suit everyone, be it driving games, shooting games, basketball games so many to choose from and do! There was even a great selection for the smaller kids too (id say more for toddlers) and of course there was the grabber machines to try and win a teddy! We tried a few but sadly never won a teddy! We loved the 2p and 10p machines i think i could spend all day playing them, there is just something so addictive about it! Grayson seemed to enjoy them too, the lights, sounds and colours really grabbed his attention! I even had a go on the VR (Virtual Reality) machine, i must say it was really good!! made me jump a few times and i really did feel that i was actually on a ride, and my belly did go a few times! If you like that kind of stuff or havent tried it before i really do recommend it!
Mummy’s favourite thing to play was the camel derby! I love a bit of competition and the fact that i beat John 3 times was just the best! We might not of won the actual race but the man running the derby kindly gave Grayson a teddy for sitting so good and watching mummy and daddy play, i thought that was so nice of him to do!
After playing on loads of the arcade games, we took a small break and had a sit down on the giant deckchair and figured out what it was that we were going to do next! Because it is so big inside with so much to do we had to figure out what we hadn’t done yet or played on and go do it! So after a much needed rest our next stop was the Pirate Flyer!
John took Grayson on this, and he loved it (Grayson that is not John) he loved being up high and being able to see everyone down below and all the lights! As it doesnt go so fast it was fine for Grayson to enjoy, he even liked playing with the pirate gun that was in there! There is also a Ghost Train, as im a wimp i didnt go on that, and well Grayson was too wee to go on so we chose not to do this one, but from hearing peoples experiences when they came off the ride they said it was really good, jumpy and scary, so if you dont mind a little fright this could be for you!!
We were also able to get our dinner within Coral Island and again Grayson ate for free as we had an adult meal, and you cant not go to Blackpool and not have some good old Fish N’ Chips! The fish was amazing and so were the chips, all freshly cooked and tasted delicious! Grayson ate some fish but we got him some chicken nuggets and chips, which he scoffed down! And again as children under 10 eat free, you can easily feed a family of 4 for just over £10!
We really really enjoyed our time at Coral Island and easily spent most of our day in there playing on all the machines! I cant wait to come back again when Grayson is a little older and can enjoy a little more of the rides and attractions in Coral Island! Thank you so much for having us and we cannot wait to come back soon!
